How To See if Your Email Was Read Using Google Short URL

Google short URL goo.gl can let you know who’s clicked on your email embedded links.  If you want to know if a link within an email has been read, you can using Google’s short URL service.

Just shorten the URL you’re putting into your email with goo.gl, and when you want to check the status of your email, just type in your shortened URL in the address bar and add a plus sign to the end (i.e., if your shortened link was goo.gl/Q7x33, type goo.gl/Q7x33+ into the address bar).

This will show you how many people have clicked on the link, and when, so you can check if the email’s actually been received or not. An email has to include a link for this trick to work, but it’s still a clever use of URL shorteners.

Thanks for the idea Lifehackers.
